Ice Storm, Power Outage and then the Flu?

Snow after the ice storm,
The ice storm hit a week ago Sunday,
I did not lose power, however everyone around me did,
some, still do not have power,

Could not get out my driveway until the ice melted off the bended branches,

So I become sick with the flu Sunday night, I had so many plans to start the New Year,
Oh well, I am still blessed to have power, and heat,
Take care out there!

Soon to be Yule!

Soon to be Yule!
Thought I would change my blog header picture.
We do not have this much snow yet, (took this picture last year), however I like this picture of
my Faerie Gardens.

From this to................

This!..........seems like in an instant!!!!

However, the snow soon melts by the next day as temps
rise again,
Pretty yes,  for now, I usually change my perspective on the snow
after the Christmas, or Yule holiday, already miss not being able to go out the
back door barefoot to sit in the Faerie Gardens.
I think it is going to be a long winter, sigh...........

Halloween Party

Welcome to my party!
First let me say Thank You to Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist
for hosting!
They say that you can  tell the kind of Witch you are by the broom you ride!
Here on the porch at Plumfield, we have observed
many different types of brooms coming in for this years Halloween celebration,

Here is a helpful chart to look at and see the type of Witch you are!
Brooms must be checked at the door!
Getting the porch ready for guests,

Come sit on the porch with the old tombstone,
For those who are gone..........,
a remembrance...............,
Invoking their presence as we prepare the Bayou trance,
My guests are arriving,
Oh My.........., a perfect landing!
Welcome dear Hepzibah,
Magick and Mystery on the Bayou Broomstick night,
Gypsy's,........... telling tales of fancy and fright,
Our "Familiar", Black Cat!
Old Black Cat appears as she sat,
to guide......., to spell......., to chat,

More guests arrive with fancy masks,
The "Mother" brings the "Maiden" to the party,
to seek remedies for her daughters melancholy,
The "Crone" begins  necromancies with
 charms....., potion's....... and spells!

Upon the table fate is told with the cards you hold!

Perhaps read your palm to find what is found,

Again the  "Mother" comforts  the "Maiden", and the "Crone" councils all,
At the season of Samhain the earth is moving into darkness. This is the time when the old, wiser aspect of the Goddess moves into our lives. She is the Crone, the healer, the teacher, the imparter of knowledge. She mediated disputes, she had influence over tribal leaders.  Women are reclaiming the name of Crone in a positive way! :(
 TIME FOR SPELLS....................
Oils and Potions, mix and match,
To find this dear "Maiden" her perfect Catch!
"But the night is Halloween, lady,
The morn is Halloday,
Then win me, win me, an ye will,
For well I want you may.
"Just at the dark and midnight hour
The Faerie Folk will ride,
And they that would their true-love win,
At Miles Cross they must bide."
Francis James Child
Let us celebrate the Full Moon on the 18th,
The Blood Moon,
But first some refreshments must  be served!
We are serving Broomstick appetizers:
Thin pretzel sticks,
Mozzarella String Cheese, wrap a piece of cheese around the pretzel,
secure with a chive leaf,
Cut the cheeses into strips after you secure with the chive!
Blood Orange Martini
Blood Orange Martinis

1 cup vodka, chilled

1 cup blood orange juice,* chilled

1 cup apple juice, chilled

1/2 cup orange liqueur, chilled
