Waiting for Ostara

When everything is Frozen

The ice is piling up

Its time to try to find some relief in sight!

Make your favorite Soda Bread,

  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup currants, raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/2-1 tbs caraway seeds (OPTIONAL)
  • 2 cups buttermilk

  • mix dry then moist, kneed into a ball,
  • wash with one beaten egg, bake, 350 for 35 minutes

  • Craft a wreath to warm your
    hearth and heart,

    Or make some Herbal sachets
for scenting the stale winter lair!
    Made from last seasons dried
    herbs are always good
to keep the end of winter bugs away!
    Lavender, Wormwood, Cinnamon,
    Cloves, each alone or all
     together in a fabric pouch,
    either glue the sides or
sew by hand or on a machine.

Start your seeds for your garden  future
    In the promise that all
this cold will be in the past,
    Reminding you to look ahead,
    not to dread,

    Cold of winter,
    Ice and snow,
    Seeds to sow,
    Will make you Go!

    Blessed Be!
