December's Full Yule Moon !!


Long Nights Moon

Yule is the time of the Winter Solstice, 
Sol Stetit, meaning "Sun Stand Still"
the shortest day and longest night of the season, 
Say goodbye to the old and welcome to the New!
The Sun is returning to the Earth and 
new life begins, and what was old is renewed!

The celebrations surrounding the Winter Solstice
are also know as Midwinter, Modranacht, or 
"Mother Night", 
On December 25, the Romans celebrated
"Sol Invictus", (invincible sun) Sol Invictus also
became the state religion of Rome in A.D. 274

There are also Solar Deity's, such as,
Apollo (Greek),  Belenus (Celtic), Llew Llaw Gyffes (British),
Lugh Lamh-fada (Gaelic), Mithras (Roman), Osiris (Egyptian),
and Ra (Egyptian)





Try this Yule Charm:

Combine equal parts of bay laurel, cinnamon and nutmeg,
Grind them together and gather into a piece of 
green cloth, tie together with a Red thread, string or 
ribbon, carry or make ribbon long enough to 
place around your neck for a necklace,
All three of these herbs are considered 
to be Ruled by the Sun !
