Blooms of Snow

It won't be long now
We are getting some 70 degree days now!!

Grey skies, cold days and freezing nights,
This is the patch of wild Bleeding Hearts, at about
85% in bloom, (day before the return of winter week)

Despite snow this last Sunday,
The 70 degrees let the Bloodroot bloom!

I did manage to get these blooms on the day before the
whole next week went so cold!

My sweet Trillium's and May Apples are still struggling to bloom,
so if this next week  will be warm and sunny and they
bloom I will snap their pictures and post them.

This is the hard part of Waiting on Spring, you get teased with sun and warm
and some blooms, then you take a step back and return to Winter!
So I will be here waiting and waiting.....................
If you have the patients to wait with me...............
I will show you more another day, week?

Thanks for waiting with me!

The snow w....a......s....... completely gone,

Woke up to this , and then
could not  get the back door open!,

New Beginning's Under the Leaves

For a couple weeks now I have been walking through the gardens,
brushing away the leaves with my hands to spy on the progress of
the sweet wild things growing among the beds,
Anticipating the glorious moment when the gardens will be filled
with ancient Flower's!
Each week, or more like every other day, I can't wait to see
if anything has been happening yet,

We are finally getting some warm rain and weather here in
Michigan, so here are some beginning sprouts of some of
the woodland wild flowers in my yard,

Sweet Squil, they are so tiny,
Once they bloom they don't last long, These are
actually the only flower that is in bloom
now in my gardens,

Wild Bleeding Heart, this little thing is the only one of the
bunch in bloom yet, soon the ground will be a huge
mass of blooms,

Wild Ginger, at this point just the tubular roots on the
ground, the bloom will also be on the ground under the

Little toes of the Blood Root,

And one brave leaf of a Trillium, with a few more
trying to unfurl, a few more days of warm sun should do it,

Violets in the middle of the lawn, so funny how they show up
in the grass here and there, if I mow then I have to be sure
to mow around them, funny little things,

Spring Violet Jelly

8 cups violet blossoms
3  1/2 c boiling water
1 package ( 1 3/4 ounces) powered fruit pectin
1/2 cup lemon juice
4 cups sugar
Pour boiling water over blossoms,
measure liquid, add pectin, sugar, lemon,
Boil all one minute
pour into sterile jars,
process in water bath for five minutes,

Be sure to visit next week,  I hope to  post everything in Bloom,
as long as the weather cooperates!

Good luck with your weather and Blooms
this week also!
See you then!
